Justin Lozano

Justin Lozano

Assistant Manager of Facility Operations

From Holiday Curiosity to a Career in Motion

What started as a passing glance at a newly lit building in Halawa turned into a career that continues to grow. “In all honesty, it was the new lights!” Justin Lozano laughs, recalling the first time he noticed DLS during a winter break visit home. What followed was a one-year plan that evolved into a multi-role career marked by opportunity and upward momentum. “I decided to take a chance and applied, thinking I’d work for a year before heading back to school or moving to the mainland. The rest is history.”

A Career Shaped by Opportunity

Justin’s DLS journey began in Accessioning and Processing, but it didn’t stop there. He moved into Compliance & Risk Management, became the go-to guy for fleet logistics, and eventually helped lay the foundation for the Facilities Department during the early days of the pandemic. Today, as Assistant Manager of Facility Operations, Justin says DLS has given him the chance to “gain invaluable knowledge and leadership experience across technical, operational and strategic areas of the organization.” One of his proudest moments? Helping bring the Mobile Testing Unit (fondly known as “Da Bus”) to life.

Working Behind the Scenes, Making a Real Impact

Though much of the Facilities team’s work happens behind the scenes, Justin knows it plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless, reliable healthcare. His team focuses on making sure that labs, clinics and offices across the organization are safe, and efficient – conditions that allow testing to proceed without delay, patients to receive timely results, and frontline staff to stay focused on their essential work. Justin explains, “Knowing that our work contributes to reliable healthcare and healthier communities gives me a strong sense of purpose.”
