On July 1, 2024, Diagnostic Laboratory Services, Inc. (DLS), the largest locally owned medical lab in Hawaiʻi, opened outpatient service centers on the Kona Community Hospital and Kohala Hospital campuses. Both new DLS sites are now available to patients with doctor’s orders for laboratory testing.

Improving Access to Laboratory Services

“We are excited to be growing our presence on Hawaiʻi Island and improving access to top quality laboratory services to the people of Kona and Kohala,” says Mark Wasielewski, DLS President. “DLS is looking forward to welcoming new patients and deepening our roots in this beautiful community.” Wasielewski has been living in Kona for the past three months and will continue to do so to ensure a successful launch.

Continuity of Care

DLS: Onsite Hospital Laboratory Operator

DLS and Kona Community Hospital and Kohala Hospital, members of the Hawaiʻi Health Systems Corporation (HHSC), officially launched their partnership, which was announced late last year. As of June 29, 2024, DLS is the onsite laboratory operator for these hospitals.
